Rapport-based training is all about building trust and connection. It draws from classical conditioning, but the focus is on making your dog genuinely want to work with you. Training should be fun, but with clear boundaries and accountability. With the right balance, your dog becomes confident, motivated, and ready to learn  

 Guardians was founded by former Military K9 Handler Martin Jenkins.
With over 10 years of experience and real-world applications, Martin has trained dogs for everything from basic obedience to controlled aggression and explosive detection. He takes pride in offering tailored training programs to suit every dog and temperament.

 Guardians is proud to be an active part of our community.
We work with local rescues and vet clinics to help returned and rescue dogs build confidence and become more adoptable. We also support several small businesses in Northern Virginia that share our commitment to making a positive impact.
